AI-suggested
Red Hat has released updated xorg-x11-server packages for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.4 that address these vulnerabilities. Users should apply the security update as described in Red Hat advisory RHSA-2026:21715 and the referenced article https://access.redhat.com/articles/11258. No alternative mitigations are specified; applying the official patch is the recommended action.
Description
Multiple security vulnerabilities have been identified in the X.Org X server, specifically affecting the xwayland component. These include denial of service via integer underflow, information disclosure and denial of service via out-of-bounds reads, use-after-free leading to potential memory corruption, and information exposure through out-of-bounds memory access. These issues impact Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.4 versions and related distributions. Red Hat has issued a security advisory with updates to address these vulnerabilities.
