I can’t post the ss idk why it keeps removing the post if I do. But I got 3 emails back to back from Microsoft support team, notifying me about a recent log in into my account. 2 said the location of my country and 1 email said philipenes. I didn’t recently log in at all ethier.

Underneath the text there was a review recent activity button, which the email was asking me to click. I clicked it, and it opened the Microsoft log in page but then I quickly closed it realizing it could be a scam.

Idk if this is real, and someone is actually trying to log into my account, or a scam.

Please help, thanks.

Technical Analysis

The report describes a potential phishing scenario where a user received emails claiming to be from Microsoft support, alerting them to recent account logins. One email indicated a login from the Philippines, which the user did not recognize. The emails included a button linking to a Microsoft login page, which the user accessed but quickly closed. The user is uncertain if this is a legitimate security alert or a phishing scam designed to steal credentials.

Potential Impact

If the emails are phishing attempts, clicking the link and entering credentials could lead to account compromise. However, no confirmed exploitation or credential theft is reported. The user did not report any account compromise following the incident.

Defensive Guidance

No official vendor advisory or patch information is available. Users should verify the legitimacy of such emails by checking the sender's full email address carefully and accessing their account activity directly through the official Microsoft website rather than clicking email links. If suspicious, report the emails to Microsoft and avoid interacting with the links or providing credentials.
