AI-suggested

A security update has been released that fixes these issues. Users should apply the update to python-pypdf provided by the SUSE Product Security Team to remediate these vulnerabilities.

Description

Multiple vulnerabilities in python-pypdf can lead to denial of service conditions through memory exhaustion, infinite loops, and excessive resource consumption. These issues arise from improper handling of PDF structures such as negative /Index values, forged /Count values, nested exception text, repeated scanning in page_labels, misdirected reference tracking, unbounded resource copying, and unterminated trailer searches. The vulnerabilities collectively enable clamp bypass, memory amplification, algorithmic complexity attacks, and thread-hanging infinite loops.
