Symfony: Prior to 2.6.25 and 3.0.8, the affected Sulu 2.6 and 3.0 release lines have a Smart Content QueryBuilder in… (CVE-2026-92692)
Description
Sulu CMS versions prior to 2.6.25 and 3.0.8 contain a vulnerability in the Smart Content QueryBuilder that allows unauthenticated attackers to manipulate category identifiers in a query parameter. This manipulation can lead to inference or enumeration of content repository nodes, including unpublished content, or submission of malformed queries that degrade availability. The vulnerability does not allow modification of repository data. Fixed in versions 2.6.25 and 3.0.8.

Technical Analysis
Sulu, a PHP content management system based on Symfony, has a vulnerability in its Smart Content QueryBuilder component (src/Sulu/Component/Content/SmartContent/QueryBuilder.php) in versions prior to 2.6.25 and 3.0.8. The issue arises because category identifiers from the public categories query parameter are concatenated into a JCR-SQL2 WHERE clause without numeric validation. This allows an unauthenticated attacker on a public page with a category-filtered Smart Content block to alter query conditions to infer or enumerate content repository nodes, including unpublished content, or to submit malformed and expensive query fragments that can degrade system availability. The vulnerability does not permit modification of repository data. The issue is resolved in versions 2.6.25 and 3.0.8.
Potential Impact
An unauthenticated attacker can exploit this vulnerability to infer or enumerate nodes in the content repository, including unpublished content, potentially exposing sensitive information. Additionally, attackers can submit malformed queries that degrade the availability of the service. There is no impact on data integrity as repository data cannot be modified via this vulnerability.
Mitigation Recommendations
This vulnerability is fixed in Sulu versions 2.6.25 and 3.0.8. Users should upgrade to these or later versions to remediate the issue. No other mitigation steps are indicated by the vendor advisory.
