Product: User Frontend

Description

A deserialization vulnerability exists in the User Frontend WordPress plugin before version 4.3.11. Technical Analysis

The User Frontend WordPress plugin prior to version 4.3.11 does not properly prevent deserialization of user-supplied field values when a submitted post is reopened in its frontend editing form. This allows authenticated users with subscriber-level privileges or above to perform PHP Object Injection attacks. Successful exploitation may result in remote code execution if the site contains an appropriate gadget chain to trigger malicious code during deserialization.

Potential Impact

An attacker with subscriber-level access or higher can exploit this vulnerability to perform PHP Object Injection, potentially leading to remote code execution. This compromises confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the affected system, allowing full control over the WordPress site.

Mitigation Recommendations

No official patch or remediation details are provided in the input data. Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until a fix is available, restrict user permissions to trusted users only and monitor for suspicious activity related to frontend post editing.
