AI-suggested
A fixed version is available in Transmission 4.1.3 and later. Users should upgrade to version 4.1.3 or newer to remediate this vulnerability. No vendor advisory or patch links were provided in the input, but the version range indicates that versions before 4.1.3 are affected and the issue is resolved in 4.1.3. Until upgrade, restricting access to the Transmission RPC interface to trusted origins and networks may reduce risk.
Description
Transmission versions before 4.1.3 have a permissive CORS vulnerability in the handle_request() function of rpc-server.cc. This flaw exposes the X-Transmission-Session-Id anti-CSRF token to any web origin, allowing malicious web pages to read and reuse the token. Exploitation can lead to unauthorized RPC calls that execute script-torrent-done, change download directories, or delete torrents and data.
