A fix is available and included in updated Linux kernel versions. Users should upgrade to patched kernel versions to resolve this issue. Refer to the Ubuntu Security Notice USN-8094-1 for specific patched versions and update guidance.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's Intel Stratix 10 firmware driver (stratix10-svc) was fixed. The issue involved incorrect usage of platform_set_drvdata and dev_set_drvdata functions, which overwrite each other's data. This bug caused the removal of the svc driver (rmmod) to fail and triggered a kernel panic during kthread_stop and fifo free operations. The flaw has been addressed in updated Linux kernel versions.
