AI-suggested
A patch is available and should be applied by updating to the fixed Linux kernel versions provided by the vendor. After updating, a system reboot is required to apply the changes. Due to an ABI change, third-party kernel modules must be recompiled and reinstalled. Users should follow the vendor's update instructions for their specific Ubuntu release and kernel package. No additional mitigation is required beyond applying the official fix.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's SPI subsystem (tegra210-quad driver) was fixed to address improper timeout handling. When the CPU running the QSPI interrupt handler is heavily loaded, the IRQ thread may not run before a transfer timeout, causing stale memory references and interrupt handling issues. The fix clears the curr_xfer field upon timeout and ensures interrupts are cleared on failure. This vulnerability affects specific Linux kernel versions used in various Ubuntu releases and NVIDIA systems.
