An official patch is available and should be applied to affected Linux kernel versions. Users should update to the fixed kernel releases as provided by their distribution. No additional mitigation is required beyond applying the vendor-supplied fix.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's octeontx2-pf driver caused a UBSAN shift-out-of-bounds error by allowing the RX ring size (rx_pending) to be set below the permitted length. This issue was fixed by ensuring the RX ring size cannot be set to small or zero values via ethtool -G. The vulnerability affects multiple specific Linux kernel versions. A patch is available to address this issue.
