UBUNTU-CVE-2026-57220

0
High
Published: 07/10/2026 (07/10/2026, 21:16:00 UTC)
Source: GCVE Database
Product: rabbitmq-server

Description

RabbitMQ versions prior to 4.2.6 contain a vulnerability in the stream listener where the configured stream frame-size limit is not enforced during frame assembly in authentication and before Tune negotiation. This allows an unauthenticated remote client to declare oversized frame lengths, potentially consuming broker memory. The issue is fixed in RabbitMQ version 4.2.6.

Technical Analysis

The RabbitMQ stream listener in versions before 4.2.6 fails to enforce the configured stream frame-size limit while assembling frames during authentication and before Tune negotiation. This flaw allows an unauthenticated remote client to specify oversized frame lengths, leading to excessive memory consumption in the rabbit_stream_core component. This vulnerability is addressed in RabbitMQ version 4.2.6.

Potential Impact

An unauthenticated remote attacker can cause excessive memory consumption on the RabbitMQ broker by declaring oversized frame lengths during the authentication phase, potentially leading to denial of service conditions due to resource exhaustion. There is no indication of confidentiality or integrity impact.

Mitigation Recommendations

Upgrade RabbitMQ to version 4.2.6 or later where this vulnerability is fixed. No other mitigations are specified.
