Technical Analysis
CVE-2026-81771 describes an unauthenticated Cross Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability in TrustedSite versions <= 1.2.5. The vulnerability allows remote attackers to inject and execute arbitrary scripts in the context of the application, potentially leading to partial confidentiality, integrity, and availability impacts. The CVSS 3.1 base score is 7.1, indicating a high severity with network attack vector, low attack complexity, no privileges required, user interaction required, and scope changed.
Potential Impact
Successful exploitation can lead to partial compromise of confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the affected system. Since the vulnerability is unauthenticated, attackers do not need valid credentials to exploit it. The vulnerability requires user interaction to trigger the malicious script execution.
Mitigation Recommendations
No patch or official fix information is currently available. Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until a fix is available, users should apply standard mitigations for XSS such as input validation and output encoding where possible.
