A patch is available that corrects the gym-scope guard to explicitly check for None gym IDs and deny access if the trainer's gym is None or does not match the member's gym. Additionally, querysets must be tightened with secondary filters scoped to the trainer's gym to prevent unauthorized data disclosure. The vendor or maintainers should extract a shared helper function to enforce consistent gym-scoping checks across all affected views. Until patched, restrict permissions for users with gym=None or avoid assigning gym=None to trainers with sensitive permissions.

Description

wger contains an access control vulnerability affecting five gym management views where a gym-scope guard fails when both the requesting trainer and target user have no gym assigned (gym=None). This flaw allows an authenticated trainer with specific permissions and no gym assignment to access private admin notes, documents, contracts, user configurations, and permissions of any other unaffiliated user with gym=None. The root cause is a comparison that incorrectly allows access when both gym values are None, combined with querysets that lack secondary gym-scoped filtering.
