A fix is available in Zebra zebrad version 7.0.0 and later. Users should upgrade to version 7.0.0 or newer to remediate this vulnerability. No other mitigation or workaround is indicated.

Description

ZcashFoundation Zebra zebrad versions before 7.0.0 have a reachable assertion race condition that allows unauthenticated remote peers to abort the node. This occurs when malicious peers trigger disconnection during a blocked outbound send by returning empty FindBlocks or FindHeaders replies and ceasing to read their socket, causing syncing nodes to terminate.
