A flaw was found in the file-fits plugin in GIMP. When processing a FITS image file, the plugin calculates memory allocation sizes using signed 32-bit integers for width and height. If a crafted file sets both values to large values, their product exceeds 2^31 and overflows, resulting in an undersized heap-based buffer allocation. This integer overflow issue results in a heap-based buffer overflow when cfitsio subsequently writes a full row of pixels in the buffer, causing memory corruption, potentially leading to arbitrary code execution or a denial of service.
cJSON library is vulnerable to an integer overflow in the print_string_ptr() function in cJSON.c on 32-bit platforms. The escape_characters counter, a 32-bit size_t, can wrap around when processing strings containing approximately 858,993,460 or more control characters, causing the output buffer to be allocated based on an underestimated length. When cJSON_PrintBuffered() is used with a pre-allocated buffer, the subsequent write loop overflows the heap allocation. An attacker supplying a crafted JSON string to an application using cJSON on a 32-bit platform can cause a heap buffer overflow, potentially leading to remote code execution, information disclosure, or denial of service.
Because project creator contact attempts were unsuccessful, the vulnerability has only been confirmed in version 1.7.19 but may also affect other versions.
An integer overflow when calculating physical offsets for sparse PMRs may result in 32-bit truncation of address computations for PMRs larger than 4 GB. This can lead to incorrect GPU MMU mappings and may allow a non-privileged user to trigger access to unintended physical memory, resulting in memory corruption or information disclosure.
CVE-2026-13063 is a medium severity vulnerability in MongoDB Server versions 8.2.0 and 8.3.0. An authenticated user with standard read/write privileges can trigger an integer overflow or wraparound in the libmongocrypt library by sending a crafted aggregation command. This causes the mongod process to terminate due to an out-of-memory condition from an excessively large memory allocation.
diff3 tool from GNU diffutils is vulnerable to a heap‑based buffer overflow due to multiple signed integer overflows in line‑mapping calculations. Incorrect arithmetic in mapping line ranges can result in corrupted values being used for memory allocation and loop bounds.
When processing crafted diff output, these overflows may cause the application to allocate insufficient memory and subsequently perform out‑of‑bounds writes during internal processing.
An attacker who can control the output of the diff program used by diff3 (e.g. via --diff-program pointing to a malicious script) can trigger out-of-bounds writes, resulting in a crash and potentially remote code execution depending on the environment.
This issue has been fixed in commit 9ff04d5b84743e331e80b589335a52c5480d1815
NOTE:
The project maintainers claim that this is not a security issue. They state that the worst outcome this issue can cause is a crash of diff and that it cannot be used to escalate privileges.
A signed integer overflow vulnerability was found in libarchive's ZIP writer. In the archive_write_zip_header function in archive_write_set_format_zip.c, when ZIP encryption is enabled and the entry file size is close to INT64_MAX, the addition of the encryption overhead to the entry size overflows int64_t, resulting in undefined behavior. This could lead to incorrect Zip64 extension decisions or potential memory corruption.
libheif is a HEIF and AVIF file format decoder and encoder. The fix for CVE-2026-3949 (commit `b97c8b5`, PR #1712) introduced an integer overflow in the very security check it added. The check itself can be bypassed, allowing a crafted HEIF file with a VVC track to trigger the same out-of-bounds heap read that CVE-2026-3949 was meant to prevent. This is a separate, currently-unpatched vulnerability. Issue #1712 was closed as fixed without testing the edge case where `size` is near `UINT32_MAX`. Version 1.22.0 patches the issue.
libheif is a HEIF and AVIF file format decoder and encoder. In versions 1.21.2 and prior, the inline mask parsing code in `libheif/region.cc` contains an integer overflow. Both `width` and `height` are `unsigned int` (32-bit) values parsed from the HEIF file. Their product can exceed `UINT32_MAX`, wrapping to a small value before the division by 8. This causes an undersized buffer allocation, leading to out-of-bounds memory access when the mask data is later interpreted as a `width x height` bitmap. Version 1.22.0 patches the issue.
CVE-2026-16402 is a critical integer overflow vulnerability in the Graphics: ImageLib component of Firefox and Thunderbird. This flaw was addressed and fixed in version 153 of both products. The vulnerability could potentially lead to security issues if exploited, but no known exploits are reported in the wild. Users running versions prior to 153 are affected.
CVE-2026-16408 is an integer overflow vulnerability in the Audio/Video Playback component of Mozilla Firefox and Thunderbird. This vulnerability was fixed in version 153 of both products. The issue could potentially allow for unexpected behavior or security risks related to integer overflow in the affected component.
CVE-2026-16395 is an integer overflow vulnerability in the Audio/Video component of Firefox and Thunderbird. This flaw was addressed and fixed in version 153 of both products. The vulnerability is considered critical due to the potential impact of integer overflow issues in multimedia processing components.
CVE-2026-16369 is an integer overflow vulnerability in the JavaScript WebAssembly component of Mozilla Firefox and Thunderbird. This flaw was addressed and fixed in Firefox version 153 and Thunderbird version 140.13. The vulnerability could potentially lead to security issues due to improper handling of integer values within WebAssembly processing.
xrdp is an open source RDP server. Versions 0.10.6 and prior contain an integer overflow vulnerability when processing screen update messages within the vnc-any connection mode. A malicious remote VNC server can send crafted image dimensions that cause an integer overflow during memory buffer size calculation, resulting in an undersized allocation. Subsequent processing of the incoming image data using the original oversized parameters leads to an out-of-bounds read. An unauthenticated remote attacker could exploit this flaw to disclose sensitive information from the heap memory or cause a denial of service (DoS) via a process crash. This issue has been fixed in version 0.10.6.1.
A flaw was found in Pacemaker. An unauthenticated remote attacker can exploit an integer overflow vulnerability in the remote message decompression process. By sending a specially crafted compressed remote message before authentication, an attacker can cause memory corruption, leading to a denial of service (DoS) in the CIB remote listener. This can result in the affected service crashing.
CAI Content Credentials is affected by an Integer Overflow or Wraparound vulnerability that could result in an application denial-of-service. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability to crash the application, leading to a denial-of-service condition. Exploitation of this issue does not require user interaction.
Bridge is affected by an Integer Overflow or Wraparound vulnerability that could result in arbitrary code execution in the context of the current user. Exploitation of this issue requires user interaction in that a victim must open a malicious file.
