This article discusses the rising threat of ClickFix, a social engineering technique used by threat actors to trick victims into executing malicious commands under the guise of quick fixes for computer issues. The technique has been observed in campaigns distributing various malware, including NetSupport RAT, Latrodectus, and Lumma Stealer. ClickFix lures often use clipboard hijacking and can bypass standard detection controls. The article provides case studies of recent campaigns, hunting tips for detecting ClickFix infections, and recommendations for proactive defense measures. It emphasizes the importance of user education and implementing robust security controls to mitigate this evolving threat.

A sophisticated campaign using typo-squatted 'Spectrum' domains has been uncovered, spreading a new Atomic macOS Stealer (AMOS) variant. The attack, disguised as a CAPTCHA verification, employs dynamic payloads based on the victim's operating system. For macOS users, a malicious shell script steals system passwords and downloads an AMOS variant. The script uses native macOS commands to harvest credentials, bypass security, and execute malicious binaries. Russian-language comments in the source code suggest involvement of Russian-speaking cybercriminals. The campaign's delivery sites show flawed logic, indicating hasty assembly. This multi-platform social engineering attack targets both consumer and corporate users, highlighting an increasing trend in cross-platform threats.

A malicious package campaign targeting Python and NPM users on Windows and Linux has been discovered. The attack uses typo-squatting and name-confusion tactics against the popular colorama Python package and the similar colorizr JavaScript package. Multiple packages with risky payloads were uploaded to PyPI, using names similar to legitimate packages in both PyPI and NPM. The unusual tactic of using an NPM package name to attack PyPI users was observed. The payloads allow remote access, control of desktops and servers, and exfiltration of sensitive data. Windows payloads attempt to bypass antivirus protection. The campaign's sophistication suggests targeted adversarial activity, although attribution remains unclear.

A network of 71 purchase scam websites has been identified, linked to 12 shared merchant accounts used for fraudulent transactions. The scams employ brand impersonation, online ads, and malicious merchants to target victims. The network, operational since February 2025, uses typosquatting and brand logo abuse to impersonate legitimate retailers. Transactions with the identified merchant accounts are likely fraudulent and facilitate card compromise. The network's attribution remains unclear, possibly controlled by a single actor or multiple actors collaborating through dark web services. Mitigation strategies for card issuers and merchant acquirers are provided to reduce financial fraud and compliance risks associated with these scams.
