The TeamUpdraft.com website was compromised on October 17-18, 2026, resulting in unauthorized access to customer data including names, emails, billing addresses, order history, hashed passwords, two-factor authentication settings, and connection keys for UpdraftCentral, UpdraftVault, and UpdraftClone. The UpdraftPlus plugin and backups stored on third-party remote storage were not affected. Attackers appear to be using compromised backup datasets to create new administrator accounts on WordPress sites using Updraft. The vendor has contained the breach, reset credentials, and is releasing emergency updates to disconnect old keys and connections. Users are advised to change passwords, check for unauthorized admin accounts, remove suspicious plugins, and follow specific remediation steps for UpdraftCentral, UpdraftVault, and UpdraftClone users.
A user on Reddit's r/cybersecurity subreddit describes a custom hardware device built with a Raspberry Pi Pico and fingerprint sensor that outputs passwords as an HID device. The device employs encrypted password storage, signed firmware with secure boot, and fused read-only keys and debug ports to enhance security. The user seeks external analysis of the firmware repository for potential vulnerabilities, mentioning that the firmware was developed with assistance from an AI tool (claude.ai). No specific vulnerabilities or exploits are reported.
Bullhorn, a provider of ATS/CRM and related recruitment software platforms, is currently experiencing a cyber incident causing a system-wide outage and service disruption. Access to Bullhorn systems has been temporarily disabled to contain the incident while investigations are ongoing with the assistance of cybersecurity specialists. This content describes an open-source phishing forensics engine named phish-zero that claims 98.32% accuracy and operates with a zero-egress architecture to avoid leaking corporate click data. It uses local neural phishing detection, character n-gram TF-IDF vectorizers, and flags for TLD abuse. The post is a community share on Reddit and includes a link to the GitHub repository. There is no indication of a security vulnerability or active threat associated with this tool itself.
This content discusses the development of a phishing URL detector focused on identifying phishing attempts based solely on URL text analysis. The detector achieves about 90% detection on unseen phishing URLs but struggles with false positives and phishing hosted on compromised legitimate sites. It highlights challenges such as phishing URLs hosted on trusted domains like docs.google.com and the difficulty of blocking such domains outright. The tool is open source and intended as a learning resource rather than an active threat report.
A user on Reddit's r/cybersecurity subreddit reported that the SSL/TLS certificate for the website ic3.gov appears to be expired when accessed via Chrome on two different networks. No further technical details or vendor advisories are provided regarding this certificate expiration.
This content describes an open-source cybersecurity project called Vader-Pro-VDR, which is an AI-assisted vulnerability detection and remediation platform. The project includes a Go-based endpoint agent for system inventory collection and a Python FastAPI backend for processing and storing telemetry data. It features secure, encrypted data transmission and a modular API design. The post is a request for advice on growing the project and attracting contributors, not a report of a security vulnerability or threat.
CVE Intel is an open-source tool that aggregates multiple public vulnerability intelligence sources such as NVD, CISA KEV, EPSS, and OSV into a single risk score and prioritization recommendation. It supports querying CVEs, IPs, file hashes, and dependencies, providing a risk score from 0 to 100 and an urgency indicator for patching. The tool includes a local AI model for explaining findings and can be used as a desktop app, CLI, REST API, or MCP server for AI coding assistants. It does not scan or fix vulnerabilities but helps security teams prioritize patching efforts based on consolidated threat intelligence.
Online Robust Mahalanobis is a statistical method for anomaly detection in robotic joint residuals. It measures how far a new sample deviates from a healthy baseline distribution using a robust Mahalanobis distance metric that is resistant to outliers. The method updates estimates of location and scatter online using averaged stochastic gradient descent, enabling real-time anomaly scoring. It is designed to detect faults such as payload changes in robotic arms by flagging samples that fall outside a learned healthy range. The approach improves on classical Mahalanobis distance by using robust estimators (geometric median and median covariation matrix) to avoid masking effects caused by outliers. This technique is presented as a research and utility module rather than a vulnerability or active threat.
This content discusses the use of Lynis, a security auditing and hardening tool for Linux and UNIX-based systems, to evaluate the security posture of various Linux distributions using their default configurations. It presents a comparative overview of Lynis Hardening Index scores across multiple distributions, indicating the relative security measures in place by default. The information is intended as a basic comparison and not a definitive security assessment.
A new JavaScript obfuscation technique has been demonstrated where formatting changes to a script can transform it into a completely different program. This technique leverages 186 different methods to alter script behavior through formatting, which can be tested via provided online tools and demos. The technique is primarily a research and development insight into JavaScript code manipulation rather than a direct vulnerability or exploit in existing software.
NetBreak is a TCP/UDP port scanner tool released on GitHub by the 5evenTeam, designed for authorized network reconnaissance. It features multiple front ends (terminal UI, desktop app, and CLI) and supports service/version detection and OS guessing heuristics. The tool is intended for legitimate scanning purposes and does not represent a vulnerability or active threat by itself. No security vulnerabilities or exploits are reported in the provided information.
Ozentime Antivirus is a newly released free antivirus software offering two editions: a lightweight 1.5 Pro version and a 2.0 flagship version with an AI engine and VPN. Both editions perform user-mode heuristic scanning without kernel or rootkit defense. The VPN included in version 2.0 is not encrypted. The software supports Windows 7 through 11 and aims to be lightweight and easy to use. There is no indication of vulnerabilities or security threats associated with this product in the provided information.
This is a research survey investigating burnout, cognitive workload, and alert fatigue among security operations personnel such as SOC analysts, incident responders, and threat hunters. The survey is anonymous and voluntary, aiming to gather data on workplace factors contributing to these issues in security operations centers. There is no indication of a security vulnerability or threat in this content.
The OSSTMM 4 pre-release was announced and streamed live at the ICIST Conference in Lithuania, with a public release planned for December 1, 2026. Cisco NX-OS Software for Nexus 3000 and 9000 Series Switches contains a critical remote code execution vulnerability (CVE-2026-76471) in the NX-API feature. This flaw allows an unauthenticated remote attacker to execute arbitrary code with root privileges or cause a denial of service by sending crafted HTTP requests. The NX-API feature is disabled by default on Nexus switches but enabled by default on UCS 6300 Series Fabric Interconnects through the UCS Manager XML API, which requires low-privileged user credentials. Cisco has released software updates to address this vulnerability, and no workarounds are available. Cisco also provides a temporary Live Protect shield mitigation. There are additional related vulnerabilities affecting Nexus switches disclosed in separate advisories. No public exploitation is known at this time.
