0 Mozilla::CA versions before 20261020 for Perl include a CA certificate bundle containing a root certificate linked to compromised intermediate certificates. The bundle includes the "emSign ECC Root CA - G3" root, which enables trust paths for intermediate certificates whose private keys are publicly known. This vulnerability allows an attacker who can intercept or redirect client traffic to impersonate TLS servers. Clients such as LWP and HTTP::Tiny typically use IO::Socket::SSL, which prefers OpenSSL's default CA locations before falling back to Mozilla::CA. Users should verify which CA store their client uses and apply operating system vendor updates if relying on the system store.
