GHSA-7cj6-cw3p-4jpwCVE-2026-61874

filebrowser versions before 2.63.17 contain a vulnerability in the DeleteWithPathPrefix function where paths are not normalized before querying the share index. This allows authenticated users to leave stale public shares behind by deleting a shared directory with a trailing slash and then recreating it, exposing new contents through the dormant public share URL.

CVE-2026-48777: CWE-22: Improper Limitation of a Pathname to a Restricted Directory ('Path Traversal') in gtsteffaniak filebrowserCVE-2026-48777
0

CVE-2026-48777 is a critical path traversal vulnerability in the gtsteffaniak filebrowser product, specifically affecting versions prior to 1.3.3-stable and 1.4.2-beta. The flaw exists in the publicPatchHandler endpoint, where user-controlled path inputs are joined with a trusted base path before sanitization, allowing traversal outside the intended directory. This enables an attacker with a public share link that has AllowModify=true to move, copy, or rename arbitrary files within the share owner's root directory. The issue was fixed in versions 1.3.3-stable and 1.4.2-beta.
