A stack-based buffer overflow vulnerability exists in Orthanc DICOM Server versions 1.12.0 through 1.12.11 in the DcmItem::read function of the DCMTK Parser component. This flaw requires local attacker privileges to exploit and can cause memory corruption. A patch identified by commit bae99026ca97 is recommended to fix the issue.
