CVE-2026-76231: Improper Neutralization of Special Elements used in a Command ('Command Injection') in renovatebot renovateCVE-2026-76231 0 Renovate versions from 32.135.0 before 40.33.0 contain a command injection vulnerability in the hermit manager where user-provided dependency names are appended to install and uninstall commands without proper sanitization. CVE-2026-76230: Improper Neutralization of Special Elements used in a Command ('Command Injection') in renovatebot renovateCVE-2026-76230 0 Renovate versions from 35.63.0 before 40.33.0 have a command injection vulnerability in the npm manager. This flaw allows attackers with repository write access to craft malicious configuration files that execute arbitrary commands on the Renovate host. The vulnerability arises because user-supplied packageName values are appended to npm install commands without proper sanitization. The issue is rated high severity with a CVSS score of 8.4. No official patch or remediation guidance is currently provided. Join the discussion | CVE Database V5 | 08/19/2026, 15:32:34 UTC Added: 08/19/2026, 14:23:58 UTC |
CVE-2026-76227: Cleartext Storage of Sensitive Information in an Environment Variable in renovatebot renovateCVE-2026-76227 0 Renovate versions from 42.68.1 before 42.96.3 (and from 42.68.1 before 43.4.4), including corresponding Docker images (renovate/renovate, mend/renovate-ce, renovate-ee-server, renovate-ee-worker >=13.3.0 <13.6.0), fail to restrict environment variables to an allowlist when spawning child processes. As a result, child processes (e.g. npm install, postUpgradeTasks, postUpdateOptions) gain full access to all environment variables of the Renovate process, allowing insider or outside attackers to exfiltrate secrets accessible to the Renovate deployment.
