CVE-2026-53633: CWE-749: Exposed Dangerous Method or Function in vitest-dev vitestCVE-2026-53633
0

Vitest versions prior to 3.2.5, before 4.1.8, and version 5.0.0-beta.4 contain a vulnerability in Browser Mode where the cdp() API exposes raw Chrome DevTools Protocol methods without proper access controls. This allows remote clients to invoke dangerous commands like Page.setDownloadBehavior and Runtime.evaluate, enabling overwriting of vite.config.ts and execution of arbitrary Node.js code. The issue is fixed starting from versions 3.2.5, 4.1.8, and 5.0.0-beta.

CVE-2026-47428: CWE-79: Improper Neutralization of Input During Web Page Generation ('Cross-site Scripting') in vitest-dev vitestCVE-2026-47428
0

Vitest versions from 4.0.17 up to but not including 4.1.6, and version 5.0.0-beta.3, contain a cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in the Browser Mode. The vulnerability arises from improper neutralization of the otelCarrier query parameter, which is inserted directly into an inline module script. This flaw allows an attacker to execute arbitrary JavaScript in the Vitest server origin and potentially recover the VITEST_API_TOKEN, enabling authenticated API calls. The issue is fixed starting from version 4.1.6 and in 5.0.0-beta.3.

CVE-2026-47429: CWE-22: Improper Limitation of a Pathname to a Restricted Directory ('Path Traversal') in vitest-dev vitestCVE-2026-47429
0

CVE-2026-47429 is a critical path traversal vulnerability in the Vitest testing framework's UI/API server on Windows. Versions prior to 3.2.5 and 4.1.0 improperly handle pathname restrictions, allowing attackers to read files outside the project directory via a specially crafted path. Additionally, exposed API features like saveTestFile and rerun could enable arbitrary script execution. The issue is fixed in Vitest versions 3.2.5 and 4.1.0.
