Valkey: Denial-of-service due to unbounded pattern matching in Redis (CVE-2024-31228)CVE-2024-31228 0 CVE-2024-31228 is a denial-of-service vulnerability in Redis caused by unbounded pattern matching on certain commands. Authenticated users can trigger a stack overflow and crash the Redis process by providing specially crafted, very long string match patterns to commands like KEYS, SCAN, PSUBSCRIBE, FUNCTION LIST, COMMAND LIST, and ACL definitions. This issue has been fixed in Redis versions 6.2.16, 7.2.6, and 7.4.1. No workarounds are known, so upgrading is recommended.
