A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's net/smc component related to handling the smcd_v2_ext_offset field in proposal messages has been resolved. The field, originating from remote clients, was not properly validated, allowing values exceeding the maximum to cause out-of-bounds memory access and potential kernel crashes. The issue has been fixed by adding a check on smcd_v2_ext_offset before use. Join the discussion | GCVE Database | 01/11/2025, 15:30:28 UTC Added: 10/03/2026, 17:20:41 UTC |
