Apache Solr: Configset upload on Windows allows arbitrary path write-access (CVE-2024-52012)CVE-2024-52012
0

Apache Solr versions from 6.6.0 up to but not including 9.8.0 running on Windows are vulnerable to a relative path traversal issue in the configset upload API. This vulnerability allows attackers to write files to arbitrary locations on the filesystem by leveraging maliciously crafted ZIP files containing relative file paths. The issue is fixed in version 9.8.0. Users unable to upgrade can mitigate the risk by restricting access to the configset upload API using Solr's Rule-Based Authentication Plugin to trusted administrators only.
