A use-after-free vulnerability in the Linux kernel's drm/vmwgfx component was resolved. The issue involved nodes in the validation duplicates hashtable originating from an arena allocator that is cleared at the end of vmw_execbuf_process. One node escaped proper clearing due to premature resource destruction, leading to a use-after-free condition. This vulnerability has been fixed in the Linux kernel. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/vmwgfx: Fix Use-after-free in validation Nodes stored in the validation duplicates hashtable come from an arena allocator that is cleared at the end of vmw_execbuf_process.
