0 CVE-2025-50182 affects urllib3 when used in a Pyodide runtime environment such as browsers or Node.js. In this context, urllib3's parameters to control HTTP redirects (retries and redirect limits) are ignored because the runtime itself manages redirects. This can lead to applications unintentionally allowing redirects despite attempts to disable them, potentially undermining protections against SSRF or open redirect vulnerabilities. A patch is available for urllib3 in Node.js environments, but browsers inherently lack mechanisms for urllib3 to control redirects due to limitations in XMLHttpRequest and the Fetch API.
