OpenBao Vulnerable to Unauthenticated Rekey Operation Cancellation (CVE-2025-52894)CVE-2025-52894 0 OpenBao before version 2.3.0 contains a vulnerability that allows unauthenticated and unaudited cancellation of root rekey and recovery rekey operations, potentially causing denial of service. Versions from 2.2.2 up to but not including 2.3.1 are affected. A patch is available that addresses this issue by disabling these endpoints by default and providing an authenticated alternative in future releases. Operators can mitigate the risk by manually setting a configuration option to disable the vulnerable endpoints or by restricting access via a proxy or load balancer.
