A NULL pointer dereference vulnerability was identified and fixed in the Linux kernel's phy: qcom-qusb2 driver. The issue occurs due to enabling runtime power management before attaching the QPHY instance as driver data, which can cause runtime PM callbacks to dereference a NULL pointer sporadically during boot. This leads to kernel crashes. The vulnerability affects certain linux-hwe-edge kernel versions prior to 6.8.0-1055.56~22.04.1 and similar versions.
