Org.eclipse.jetty:jetty security: Eclipse Jetty Digest Authentication: ISO-8859-1 lossy encoding allows authentication bypass via character substitution (CVE-2026-10050)CVE-2026-10050 0 A vulnerability in Eclipse Jetty's Digest Authentication implementation causes authentication bypass for passwords containing non-Latin-1 characters. The use of ISO-8859-1 encoding silently replaces all characters above U+00FF with '?', causing different passwords with non-Latin-1 characters to produce identical MD5 hashes. This allows attackers to authenticate using a collision password where all non-Latin-1 characters are replaced by '?'. Additionally, legitimate users with non-Latin-1 characters in their passwords cannot authenticate successfully, causing denial of service.
