CVE-2026-19624 is a local privilege escalation vulnerability in NetworkManager-l2tp. It occurs because the plugin writes attacker-controlled VPN connection properties unescaped into the ipsec.conf file, which is loaded by pluto running as root. A local unprivileged user can exploit this by injecting newline characters into the VPN profile, causing arbitrary commands to execute with root privileges.
