A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's idpf driver was fixed to correct error handling during the init_task on driver load. If the init_task fails, the system may lack virtual ports and network devices, causing the process to fail. Subsequent resets in this state can lead to kernel crashes due to attempts to access uninitialized resources. This issue has been addressed in updated Linux kernel versions.
