A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's hv_netvsc driver was resolved that prevented proper handling of RSS hash key programming when no RX indirection table is configured. This flaw could cause the system to hang if RSS hash key updates were accepted without a valid RX indirection table. The issue was fixed by gating the relevant function to check for the presence of the RX indirection table and returning an error if absent. This vulnerability affects specific linux-azure kernel versions prior to 6.8.0-1057.60~22.04.1 and related versions. A patch is available and should be applied to prevent system hangs related to this issue. Join the discussion | GCVE Database | 02/04/2026, 17:16:00 UTC Added: 07/18/2026, 11:28:33 UTC |
