CVE-2026-2340: Improper Handling of Insufficient Permissions or Privileges in Red Hat Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10CVE-2026-2340 0 CVE-2026-2340 is a vulnerability in Samba's vfs_worm module on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10. The vfs_worm module is designed to enforce write-once, read-many (WORM) protections by preventing file modifications after a configurable grace period. Due to insufficient validation during rename operations, an authenticated user with write access to a Samba share can overwrite files that should be immutable under the WORM policy by renaming a new file over a protected file. This flaw does not grant additional privileges beyond those of the authenticated user but impacts file integrity significantly.
