Red Hat Security Advisory: kernel security updateCVE-2026-31613 0 Red Hat has issued a security advisory for a kernel update addressing three vulnerabilities in the Linux kernel used in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9 and related products. The issues include an out-of-bounds read in SMB client code (CVE-2026-31613), a buffer overflow in the Xen hypervisor driver (CVE-2026-31786), and improper acceptance of userspace cifs. spnego descriptions in the SMB client (CVE-2026-46243). These vulnerabilities have been rated with a security impact of Important by Red Hat. The update requires a system reboot to take effect and is available for multiple architectures and variants of Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.
