Multiple security vulnerabilities have been identified in the Linux kernel packages used by Red Hat Enterprise Linux versions 8.8 and 10.0. These include denial of service due to deadlocks, use-after-free, heap overflow, memory corruption, and privilege escalation issues affecting various kernel subsystems such as hugetlb folio migration, netfilter, RDMA umad, KVM, NFSv4.0, and CAN raw sockets. Red Hat has released security updates addressing these issues, and applying these updates requires a system reboot.

Red Hat has issued a security advisory for the Linux kernel packages in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.6. The update addresses multiple vulnerabilities including a race condition in ALSA aloop PCM trigger (CVE-2026-23191), a privilege escalation or denial of service in KVM due to improper shadow page table entry handling (CVE-2026-23401), and a cryptographic issue in algif_aead (CVE-2026-31431). These vulnerabilities are rated as important by Red Hat. The update requires a system reboot to take effect.
