A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's AMDGPU driver was resolved by replacing kfree() with kvfree() in the amdgpu_gmc_get_nps_memranges() function. The issue involved improper memory deallocation where kfree() was used to free memory allocated by kvcalloc(), which may internally use vmalloc() for large allocations. Using kfree() on vmalloc memory can cause memory corruption. This vulnerability was identified through static analysis and code review and has a CVSS score of 7.8.
