GHSA-73hr-m85f-64v9: Incus has an arbitrary file write on host via `exec-output` symlink in crafted imageCVE-2026-48750
0

A vulnerability in Incus (github.com/lxc/incus/v7/cmd/incusd) prior to version 7.2.0 allows an attacker to write arbitrary files on the host by exploiting the `exec-output` symlink in a crafted container image. The `record-output` parameter of the `/instances/$name/exec` endpoint writes command output files to the `exec-output` directory, which if replaced by a symlink, can redirect these files to arbitrary locations on the host filesystem. This can lead to arbitrary command execution via crafted files such as cron jobs.
