The issue occurs in the function amd_pstate_epp_cpu_init() where, upon failure to set the energy performance preference (epp), the allocated cpudata object is not freed, causing a memory leak. This flaw does not impact confidentiality or integrity but affects availability due to resource leakage. The vulnerability has been fixed by ensuring the cpudata object is freed before the function returns on error.
