A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's hugetlb subsystem causes reservation leaks on error paths during huge page folio copy operations. (CVE-2026-53154)CVE-2026-53154
0

A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's hugetlb subsystem causes reservation leaks on error paths during huge page folio copy operations. This can lead to a SIGBUS signal being sent to a task when it accesses an address it had previously reserved, under hugetlb pool pressure. The issue arises from missing restoration of per-VMA reservation map entries on failure in specific copy paths. The flaw affects operations involving userfaultfd copy and fork-time copy-on-write with pinned hugetlb anonymous pages. A fix was introduced to restore reservations properly on error.
