In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: vc_screen: fix null-ptr-deref in vcs_notifier() during concurrent vcs_write A… (CVE-2026-53385)CVE-2026-53385 0 A null pointer dereference vulnerability was discovered and fixed in the Linux kernel's vc_screen component. The issue occurs in the vcs_notifier() function during concurrent writes to the virtual console (vcs_write), caused by a race condition leading to use of a stale pointer. This can cause a kernel crash due to dereferencing a NULL pointer. The fix adds a NULL check before calling vcs_scr_updated() to prevent the null pointer dereference.
