0 A vulnerability in ZITADEL's OAuth2 Token Exchange endpoint allows an authenticated user or client to escalate privileges by exchanging a low-privilege token for a token with elevated permissions in a different application. This occurs due to missing verification of token ownership and scope restrictions during the token exchange process. The flaw affects ZITADEL versions 3.0.0 through 3.4.12 and 4.0.0 through 4.15.2. The issue has been fixed in versions 4.15.3 and later. Mitigations include upgrading to a patched version, disabling the Token Exchange feature flag, or removing the token exchange grant type from applications.
