Libevent versions prior to 2.2.2-alpha contain a vulnerability in ws.c where invalid list pointers can be dereferenced during error handling in evws_new_session. This occurs when evhttp_start_ws_ succeeds but bufferevent_enable_locking_ fails, leading to a call to TAILQ_REMOVE on a session not inserted into the session list. This can cause a process crash. The issue is fixed in version 2.2.2-alpha. Join the discussion | GCVE Database | 08/20/2026, 18:16:00 UTC Added: 08/24/2026, 13:51:16 UTC |
