The issue caused a kernel crash during initialization of the first serial port due to dereferencing a pointer derived from a null parent device pointer. The fix involves switching from legacy probing to platform device usage, updating resource handling, and changing driver binding behavior to prevent conflicts. This change also affects the timing of console handover during system bootstrap. Join the discussion | GCVE Database | 07/19/2026, 18:31:43 UTC Added: 07/19/2026, 19:38:20 UTC |
