A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's drm/amdgpu subsystem (CVE-2026-63879) was fixed to address improper handling of the notifier sequence in amdgpu_hmm_range_get_pages, which could lead to working with invalid pages. This flaw was resolved by ensuring the notifier sequence is only read once. The vulnerability affects multiple versions of the linux-hwe-edge kernel prior to specific 7.0.0 releases. A patch is available and should be applied via standard system updates, which require a reboot and recompilation of third-party kernel modules due to an ABI change.
