A memory corruption vulnerability in the Linux kernel's USB serial omninet driver was fixed. The issue involved bulk-out buffers being smaller than the hardcoded transfer size, which could lead to user-controlled slab corruption if a malicious USB device reported a smaller endpoint max packet size than expected. This vulnerability has been addressed in updated Linux kernel packages. Users should update to the fixed kernel versions and reboot to apply the patches.
