A race condition vulnerability in the Linux kernel's USB gadget UVC function binding was resolved. The flaw involved improper locking of opts->lock during extension unit walks, allowing a privileged local user to race list operations and potentially dereference freed memory. This could lead to denial of service or other impacts on system stability. The issue affects numerous Linux kernel versions prior to 7.0.0-28.28 and related builds. A patch is available and should be applied to mitigate the vulnerability. Join the discussion | GCVE Database | 07/27/2026, 00:00:00 UTC Added: 08/26/2026, 15:02:15 UTC |
