A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's KVM implementation for arm64 was resolved by ensuring the __hyp_running_vcpu field is cleared when flushing the pKVM hypervisor vCPU context. The issue involved flush_hyp_vcpu() copying the host vCPU context verbatim, including a non-NULL __hyp_running_vcpu pointer, which should only be set on the host context. This could lead to dereferencing a host pointer at EL2, potentially causing incorrect behavior or security issues. The fix clears __hyp_running_vcpu after copying to prevent this.
