A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's USB kalmia driver was resolved involving improper bounds checking of RX frame lengths in the kalmia_rx_fixup() function. The function miscalculates usb_packet_length due to insufficient validation, allowing a device to cause an out-of-bounds read by supplying crafted short bulk-IN frames. This leads to memory read operations beyond the allocated receive buffer. The fix requires verifying both start and end framing headers before processing each loop iteration to prevent underflow and out-of-bounds access.
