In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nilfs2: reject CLEAN_SEGMENTS ioctl with out-of-range segment numbers Syzbot… (CVE-2026-64359)CVE-2026-64359 0 A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's nilfs2 filesystem allows out-of-range segment numbers to be passed to the CLEAN_SEGMENTS ioctl. This leads to a hung task condition due to improper validation of user-supplied segment numbers, causing kernel tasks to block for extended periods. The issue arises because the range check occurs too late in the processing, resulting in excessive printk latency while holding critical locks. The vulnerability has been resolved by adding early validation of segment numbers before any segment-cleaning work begins, rejecting invalid inputs promptly.
