In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ksmbd: require source read access for duplicate extents… (CVE-2026-64395)CVE-2026-64395 0 A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's ksmbd component allowed file content copying without proper source read access verification. Specifically, the FSCTL_DUPLICATE_EXTENTS_TO_FILE operation passed the source file handle directly to internal VFS functions without checking if the handle had FILE_READ_DATA permission. This could enable an attacker with attribute-only access to copy file contents to an attacker-controlled destination. The issue has been resolved by requiring FILE_READ_DATA permission on the source handle before performing the copy operation.
